Academic Program Demand Forecasting
Helping you identify opportunities for program growth - both current and new - so you can drive past your enrollment goals in the near and long-term.
The steps in this process include developing a profile of current students and prospects and conducting a market needs assessment in order to understand the needs, expectations and perceptions of these audiences as they relate to higher education (degree programs, certificate programs, Competency Based Education, MOOCs, etc.) and your institution moving forward. Typically, in-depth interviews are performed with local business/community leaders to understand their perceived higher education needs and expectations for future graduates/employees.
This research will also identify present and future industry and workforce education and training requirements/needs to provide you with guidance for new program development.
The first part of the overall research project is the competitive scan. This requires the selection of competitors to include in the research and the detailed list of factors/characteristics that will be used in the analysis
Upon approval, we will collect data from a variety of sources including: annual reports, E-Campus News, Eduventures, Dun & Bradstreet, Hoovers Online, institutional recruitment/marketing collateral including their website, educational associations and organizations, industry publications and government agencies.
All the data will then be collated and indexed with any links and commonalities highlighted so as new information is found it can quickly be tied to the existing data. During this phase, we will identify the operating and marketing practices, including: marketing strategies, advertising and promotion, pricing, product development and delivery channels.
The second part of the overall research project will be the marketing assessment study. From the study, we will analyze each question, run the appropriate statistical tests and write up the findings. The report will include Executive Summary, Conclusions, Recommendations, Methodology, Detailed Findings, and Data Tabulations. Also included will be appropriate graphs, charts and statistical analysis documentation. Reports will be provided in an electronic format (point and click e-document); however, a hard copy format is available, if requested/preferred.
